The documentary: Dealing with Time (Le temps presse) directed by Xavier Marquis, produced by Bruno Nahon has been selected at Sheffield Documentary Festival. Screening is Scheduled on 5th et 6th of november.

What effect is the breakneck speed of our daily lives having on society? Find out in this wide-ranging and humorous foray into our relationship with time.
We spend time, we track time, we bill for time, we long for time, but these days just about nobody has any spare time. In fact, researchers have discovered that around the world, we have sped up ten percent in the last decade. But what is the effect of our pace having on society? In a wide-ranging and humorous foray into our relationship with time, Director Xavier Marquis travels to France, the UK, Denmark, and the US to talk to experts about what our all out haste is doing to society – and how we came to be here in the first place. Teenagers getting into top universities might have a long list of activities to talk up, but few have had the downtime to nurture their creative thinking. Whilst many people – including the growing Slow Revolution – recognise that slowing down is the way to recapture quality of life, making this happen in today’s society where time is money is not so easy.

Sibusiso, Mzala, Sandile and Phumzile live in the Province of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. In 2010, the soccer World Cup will be held in a country where the black/white rich/poor divisions are still written into the territory itself. Landscape, in South Africa, is not innocent. It is political. During one month, South Africa is going to be at the center of the world’s attention. Sibusiso, Mzala, Sandile and Phumzile will stay out of screen. The documentary will convey the dissonance and resonance between the worldwide event and the reality of people’s lives. From fervour to melancholy.
